Paço de S. Miguel / Fundação Eugénio Almeida
This palace in castle shape has manifested Italian influences in the main body, which is a 16th century construction from where an elegant Renaissance loggia stands out on the frontage and on the shed galleys on the back door. It also stands out the fifteen hundreds stonework, the horseshoe windows semi – detached (Mudéjar), the frescoes from Moorish inspiration, the fountain and fresh garden house, the cylindrical small towers, besides several other traces from Gothic structures. This ensemble underwent several additions and changes throughout the centuries, distributing by different pavilions from different times. On the inside it is worth to mention the wall paintings from the Noble Room on the main body, a work done by Master Francisco de Campos.
