Reserva Natural do Paúl de Arzila
This is a moist alluvial valley with very fertile areas, which covers the municipalities of Coimbra, Condeixa-a-Nova and Montemor-o-Velho. Includes two main areas: the protection zone and the central core, and aims to create a barrier to environmental assaults from abroad. Of great ecological value, scientific and landscape, it is still autumn crossing location for migratory birds nesting, transarianas to Anatidae (ducks) and some species of herons. It is crossed by three ditches: the Ditch, the ditch of the mills and the pit in the Middle, where they can be observed various species of fauna and flora. Is still classified as biogenetic reserve and is part of the Natura 2000 Network.
