A typical village of the region named Terra Fria Transmontana (Cold Land of Trás-os-Montes), located in the protected area of the Natural Park of Montesinho. It has great faunistic relevance at the European level and it is the habitat of several animal species. It is also a privileged area for the lovers of open air sports, with several pedestrian trails and mountaineering. The traditional music and the typical gastronomy, with a special note to the famous Montesinho kid, are the most outstanding aspects of the local culture.
