Monumento Natural de Carenque
Classified as a Natural Monument in May 1997, this deposit, discovered in 1996 is located on a decommissioned quarries and contains a fossil record of over a hundred tracks the beginning of the Upper Cretaceous produced by two herbivorous quadrupeds and, possibly, by carnivorous bipeds with more than 120 m in length. The construction of the tunnel of Carenque (CREL) relates to the preservation of this monument.
