This fourteen hundreds building has Pedro Esteves signature, listener from the family Casa de Bragança. It is composed by a central volume and two rectangular towers. It possesses an extensive façade sided by two towers and ogival windows, attached and rectangular. The gateway, the attached openings and the ground floor entrances reveals us its medieval character.

This is a large, sober construction from the XVII century, ordered by the minister António de Sousa Macedo, well integrated at the urban mesh. It started in a primitive nucleous where the chapel stands. The palace developed occupying the entire quarter, having the main façade facing north. It keeps panelling of glazed tiles from the XVII and XVIII centuries.

This Convent was donated to the Canons regular of Augustinian Rule was sacred on the 16th century after some renovations. In 1562 it started to belong to the friars from Santa Cruz de Coimbra convent and was extinguished in 1770. This construction is under the renaissance style and it has some important features from it, such as the church, the Monastery house and all the land inside of the fence.

There were four gates of the city, some have already destroyed, but keeping the names of antiquity. It's still the portas de Santo António, located to the Northeast, today enters the city. The Wicket is a small Gothic door, situated to the East, checking in only the pawns. To the Southwest is the fence gate, in good condition and to the North are the doors of Nossa Senhora do Amparo.
