Gothic door in stone, one of the ancient entrances to the Castle.

Stone arch that was part of the ancient city walls.

It is one of the city's gates, built together with several walls, in the 16th century, for military and safety purposes. It was remodelled in the 20th century. Classified as a National Monument.

It is one of the four doors that allows to access to the inside of the Castle of Monsaraz defensive walls. Each door is made out of granite, red clay mortar and burnt lime. The landscaped effect it creates is remarkable once it is done in plain arch. This door underwent several works for its preservation.

Stone, Roman arch demolished in 1893 and rebuilt in 1939.

This is an ancient medieval door rebuilt in 1804. On the “inside” of the city, it is a white portal with yellow outline, and “outside” it is a stone portal, Manueline style. It is one of the doors of the city of Évora.

This arch is the best kept structure of the ancient Coimbra’s wall, which corresponded to the main entrance in the city during the Islamic period. On the arch is the sculpture of our Lady, the national arms and the symbol of the city foundation.
