Some examples are lavender, mint, citron-tree, aloe Vera and anise not forgetting fennel that, at the time of peopling, vegetated abundantly in the south coast of Madeira Island, and was in the origin of the name of the city of Funchal.

Church built in the XVIII century in the place where a chapel from the XV century used to be. Inside are visible some goldsmithery from the XVII and XVIII centuries and some paintings. Theatre built in the end of the XIX century by the architect Tomás Augusto Soler. It was first called Teatro Dona Maria Pia, and then changed to Teatro Funchalense, after that to Teatro Manuel de Arriaga and at last Teatro Baltazar Dias, paying homage to the Madeira dramaturge from the XVI century.

Regional restaurant that reckons upon the owner’s niceness commanding the room and the kitchen. It is one of the few restaurants in Madeira that offers all kind of fish and seafood. The fish is taken to the table before being cooked so that the client may choose. Due to the dimensions of the house, reservation is obligatory and smoking is not allowed.
