For some, it is a monumental landmark that was erected to demarcate the limit of the Couto do Monastery of São João de Tarouca, for others it is a funerary monument built for the tomb of Diogo Anes, who in 1175 (12th century) was the owner of the land.

Imposing religious monument, belonging to the convent of order of St. Francis (via dos capuchos). It consists of nave, chancel and Bell Tower. The interior conserves an important booty embodying: three Corbels with Christ crucified, flanked by the Virgin and Saint John the Evangelist, the gilded and polychrome altarpieces, the side chapels and the chapel interior.
