Benedictine monastery consisting of longitudinal plant Church, nave and chancel foursquare. The decorative elements of the Church featured a carved tympanum Agnus Dei and a figure of St. Michael attacking a snake. The monastery preserves, still nowadays, the cell where lived the Bishop of Grão-Pará, following the banishment to the voted the Marquês de Pombal.

Church built in the first half of the 16th century, the present characteristics of Manueline architecture and Mannerist.
