The Vala Real (Royal Pit) spreads to the south of the Aveiro tidal stream.

A space with trees and dunes, rich in mud, as in the Aveiro tidal stream, to which it is connected. It is also linked to the lagoon of Mira, by the Cana Valley, on the north side. The most common fish species are the mullet, the eel and the sole.

Also known as Lagoa de Baixo (Lagoon from down below) it has a long shape and communicates with the lagoon of Barrinha, in Mira, by the so-called Vala da Cana (Cana Pit). It is surrounded by trees, with pine woods sinc the dunes of Quiaios. There is a beach and a picnic area.

From this viewpoint we obtain privileged views on the settlement of the land of Bread, and the blue of the Ocean as a backdrop.

The Cabeço das Cabras is the final border between the adventurous departing up the mountain and the most fearful who prefer the safety of the road. It is about 1200 meters above sea level, on the western slope of Mount Pico, and highest point on the island is accessible by car. Here one can observe the entirety of the island of Faial and the immensity of the blue sea.

The Infante Dom Pedro park, or City Park, was organized from 1862 on from the area that belonged to the Convento de Santo António. The stream that crossed it was used to create a scenery of lakes and fountains punctuating the surrounding green area. In this garden, the linden avenue, the iron bandstand and the romantic corners next to bridges and trees stand out.
