Sesimbra é muito conhecida pela riqueza das qualidades e sabores dos peixes e mariscos pescados nas suas costas, fruto da riqueza da sua fauna. A açorda de marisco é, por isso, muito apreciada na região. É também costume juntar a esta açorda peixe de lasca cozido, como o cherne e o tamboril, desfeito em lascas. A água de cozer estes peixes serve também para amolecer o pão.

An area of beaches and pinewoods where fishing is the typical activity. The Castelo parish has several monuments, namely palaces and manors, churches and chapels, the medieval set of the Sesimbra Castle and its surrounding area and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Cabo. The stone works are an example of the local arts.

A space devoted to exhibitions of religious artworks. It has paintings and sculptures of the 15th to 18th centuries and works of the primitive "Hospital da Confraria do Espírito Santo" (Hospital of the Holy Spirit Brotherhood) that was founded at the end of the 15th century.
