Replica of the old São João Batista Fort located there, built in 1730, due to the pirate attacks on Porto Moniz. In 1998, the town's Municipal Council acquired the ruins, completely restoring it and giving it its original appearance, in order to house the Madeira Aquarium.
Beach next to the natural pools of Porto Moniz, a true highlight of the region. These peculiarly shaped volcanic rock formations create water basins, with a large tourist charisma, where bathing is possible.
Cable car that connects Achadas da Cruz to the beach, with views of Porto Moniz. It is not recommended for those who suffer from vertigo, but it allows a panoramic view of the green slopes and the ocean.
The Madeira Aquarium is installed in a replica of the São João Baptista Fort and is made up of twelve exhibition tanks, representing the different marine habitats of the archipelago, with different species of fish and the recreation of various environments. The central tank holds 500,000 liters of salt water, an imposing body of water, similar to that of the Lisbon Oceanarium.
The campsite in Porto Moniz, situated at the mouth of Ribeira da Janela, boasts numerous green spaces for camping in harmony with nature. It also has a playground which is the delight of the smallest.
A 19th century fountain whose construction was promoted by Porto Moniz Town Hall. It is part of the wall of a house, on a steep terrain, in front of the church of Porto Moniz.
