It was built in the late 18th century by Francisco Lopes Sarafana Correia da Silva, believed to have been built over an old residence of the Society of Jesus.

They are composed by curvilinear traces with rectilinear trends and the pavement was in granite blocks. It has one bridge with a perfect curve arch probably built on the XVIII and XII centuries.

It was built in the 16th century, later (between 1870 and 1960) as primary school. In the late 20th century was adapted to Museum and Gallery exhibitions.
