The parish of São Pedro da Afurada is known for its fishing traditions. In these fishermen’s quarters every year, on June, 29th, take place the festivities of its patron saint: São Pedro (Saint Peter). The bronze statue over a granite pedestal, located in the Vasco da Gama Street, is part of that spirit of adoration to the patron saint of the fishermen.

This is a church from the 1500s that was completely rebuilt during the 18th century. Planned by Nasoni, it features a sober construction with the portal ended by an outstanding arch. The façade is sided by a bell tower. The south tower has a belfry that was added on the second half of the 19th century. Worthy of notice are the lateral doors of the main chapel.

A building located in the historic area of the city of Vila Nova de Gaia, near the port wine cellars and dated from the 17th century. It has an L architectural structure with two floors and a stone staircase leading to the noble floor. On the west side one may view the chapel and the gardens. The chapel and the entire surrounding set, the gardens included, ar classed as a Public Interest Construction.

Dated from the beginning of the century, this art nouveau building (single exemplar of this style in Vila Nova de Gaia) presents an original architecture of carved granite, with a glazed tiles decor, railings, stuccos and glass. It has three floors (one of them a basement), being completed with a garden that includes a greenhouse, a small lake, grottos and a turret.

Dated from the 16th century (1538), this work was the object of several transformations that totally changed the initial project of Diogo Castilho and João de Ruão. The church, built in 1598, presents a circular form and is surrounded by a narrow balcony. The inside lodges carving works and sculptures from the 18th century.

The Audiência Stone marks the jurisdiction privileges of the ancient Couto de Avintes through times, whose origins go back to the foundation of the country.

A granite pillar built to pay homage to Doutor Joaquim G. Ferreira Alves, founder and clinical director of the sanatorium located here.

A big aqueduct with several arches, stretching along the Amoreiras arches and entering the Quinta de Grijó.
