This museum displays a vast collection of sacred images and artefacts in silver.

Church built by testament of Infante d. Henrique, in 1460. Inside is a collection of sacred art from the 17th and 18th centuries.

This gate is one of the few vestiges of the old fortress, built in the 18th century to defend the village from the pirates. It was built between 1797 and 1799 by Matias de Avelar. At the top of the door is the coat of arms with the Royal arms of Portugal.

The island of São Jorge is also known for "Ilha das Fajãs" by the massive presence of these fertile locations, "flecked" by one or another White House that cut the landscape. Fajã das Almas, also known as Fajã do Calhau, is more one of these rare beauties, deserve a visit. Be sure to know the Hermitage of Nossa Senhora das Almas and the chapel of Santo Cristo, the Harbour and the bathing area.

Also known as Fajã do Porto, the site has about 30 old houses and a road accessible by automobile. It has a chapel, in honor of our Lady of sorrows and numerous streams. It is known also for its pools (natural pools for bathing) and by furnas on its coast, caused by sea erosion.

O Queijo de São Jorge, de consistência firme e pasta amarelada, é fabricado desde o século XVI, mas ainda hoje mantém o seu método tradicional de fabrico. O seu sabor único e inimitável deu-lhe fama, sendo hoje exportado internacionalmente. Classificado como queijo curado de pasta dura ou semidura, e de aroma forte, com o tempo adquire um sabor ligeiramente picante, revelando-se um delicioso aperitivo. É inclusive utilizado em alguns pratos típicos da cozinha tradicional. Quem o prova não fica indiferente ao seu paladar forte.

The campsite of Urzelina, located on the island of São Jorge, in the parish of Urzelina, is situated on the seafront, where you can relax in a natural pool in the middle of the ocean. It offers spaces for camping in tents and grills to cook your meals outdoors.

18th-century building where stands out abroad, the interesting portal from basalt and, inside, the vast documentary collection of 16th and 17th centuries.

The island of São Jorge is known by many mills that exist here. In white or red, these mills came to replace the traditional wood.
