Palácio dos Arcos

A building constructed at the end of the 15th century and reconstructed in the 18th century. Of its primitive sytructure, this ancient manor preserves two turrets united by a balcony that stands on three arches. There is also a chapel with a baroque altar, some houses, stables and big woods.

This Chapel, also known as Chapel of the Manor, integrates the Palácio do Marquês de Pombal. It is designed by the architect Carlos Mardel and was dedicated to our Lady of mercy. In the interior, especially the stuccoes of the Italian John Grossi, the three altars with paintings by André Gonçalves and the representation of the life of the Virgin.
