Chiesa Madre (mother church) of the village of Monsaraz, 1500s, has replaced the previous Gothic Temple since it was contaminated by the plague. The bear marble carved Tomb by Gomes Martins Silvestre, to portray a funeral procession with 17 people is one of the most relevant monuments. The Centre of the pediment, the tiled Panel represented the Virgin of conception. On the facade are quadrangular towers 2 and a false portico of 3 blind arcades.

Its construction started on October 27, 1887. The Bell Tower is in the middle of the facade. Inside you can see 3 naves and 3 chapels in the area of the headboard. The transept is projecting. The giant flying buttresses and the placement of the Tower in the middle of the facade make this church one of the finest examples of Gothic Revival architecture in Portugal.

This granite monument, shaped like a mushroom, has more than 2 meters high. Has a peculiar morphology, resembling a mushroom, with the narrower base than the top with the top height. Its symbolism became an attraction, given that it was customary to girls in the region to shoot a stone to a stone, to know if your marriage was around or not. Each stone was waiting a year failed. Today still meets on the first Monday of Easter.

This set of fifty menhirs defining a regular quadrangular enclosure was discovered and identified by the Portuguese. Although fractured, some have phallic configuration, other 200, involving a giant center post with phallic configuration, four feet high and 7 tons of weight. It was the only monument moved to another location in the entire region of Alqueva and was installed in 2004.

It is known as the Good and Bad Judge fresco. It is precisely on the inferior panel that are located the Good and Bad Judge figures in a Civil trial.
