Dubbed the City of the archbishops, many religious monuments of great patrimonial value that can be found and visited. The pedestrian streets of the historic centre, with the traditional trade, has a permanent animation. The historic sites have been preserved and are the scene of conviviality between generations as famous cafes, like the Vianna and A Brasileira. They called it the Roman Bracara Augusta and those times were brands such as the fountain of the idol, the Roman baths of the Alto da Cividade and the Arco da Porta Nova, among others.
Termas Romanas do Alto da Cividade

These are also known as Roman Baths/Spa of alto da Cividade are located on the upper part in Cividade slope. They were discovered during the working excavations made during 1977. The building is placed in the 1st century and it is integrated on the urban renovation work of Flávia Braca Augusta.

Church 19th century neoclassical architecture, consisting of a church flanked by two rectangular buildings, with Bell Tower located near. Inside the Church the 19th century pattern tile coating and for the choir-high profile clipped with wooden balustrade. Currently, the buildings annexed to the Church is the famous café Vianna and a bank.

Torre de Santiago ou do Colégio

The Santiago Tower marks one of the medieval watch-box and one of the city entrances. It still maintains its medieval air, which contrasts with the rocaille decoration that covers the North front. The chapel’s construction was ordered to thank the Virgin the fact that the college suffered no damages during the earthquake in 1755.
Torre de Menagem do Castelo de Braga

This is all that’s left of the Braga’s castle, which formed a medieval fortress. It has 12 meters long and about 30 meters height. The granite tower is crowned with battlements and angles. In one of the fronts a D. Dinis coat of arms.
