Church located near the Forte de São sebastião (Fortress). One of the most important characteristics is the ornamental richness inside, with distemper wall paintings, decorating all the elevations.
Parish church with quite peculiar architectonical details. The church porch is renaissant, although pretty adulterated, the main chapel has a vault and neo-manueline elements at the south front platband.
Important work in the renewal of the military defence of the village, such as it is certified by the proximity of the castle and its wall. Fortress of irregular drawing with five bulwarks.
The outer wall, in a semicircular shape, surrounded the medieval village and the so-called Castelo Velho. Today, only the remains of the castle with four turrets and a door, the ruins of the Church of São Tiago, built in the 14th century, and the Palace of the Mayors remain. The Castle is a unique viewpoint of the Guadiana River, the village, the salt pans and vast horizons of the sea.
Baroque religious architecture, vernacular. Small chapel, serving a reduced, rural population. It has a porch, single nave with a semicircular vault covering and quadrangular main chapel, with wood roofing.
