Fortified village built in the middle ages by the Romans. It consists of several buildings and three lines of walls. Some of the structures were object of reconstruction.

Chaves pillory has five stairs, a pedestal, and in its top it has a capital that shows an armillary sphere and the Municipality Coat of Arms.

On this site are still visible some remnants of the Castro culture. Highlighting the rock altar, on which was built the chapel of Santa Ana.

Majestic granite Chapel, where stands out your frame, topped by a triangular pediment and flanked by pilasters. Inside stands the altar in gilt, with an image of the Patron Saint. Originally, this chapel was located elsewhere, where there was also a hostel where they welcomed the pilgrims of Santiago de Compostela. After being destroyed in the early 17th century, were rebuilt at the current location, in 1681.

Legend of Mary keeping it that after this have had seven sons, and as at that time considered themselves infidels women who had more than one son, this sent fire on six of its seven river newborns. However, the husband found out and sent the boys to be created in six villages of the municipality of Chaves. Ten years later, her husband presented the six boys Maria keeping it. There is also the legend, that the seven have become priests in seven villages of the municipality.
