O Dom Pedro Pinhal deve a sua personalidade ao designer original Frank Pennink e a Robert Trent Jones Sr., que fez uma série de refinamentos significativos em 1985. O primeiro conjunto de 9 buracos serpeiteiam por entre pinheiros bravos, enquanto os outro 9 retornam em campo aberto e leve declive ascendente, proporcionando fabulosas vistas para o mar.

A golf course with 18 holes, all of them different, in a 90 hectares area and a total width of 6560 metres. 12 hectares are occupied by several lakes, while another atraction of this course is its fantastic training course and its enormous putting green with about 2500 square metres.

As indicated by its name, this golf course spreads to the Atlantic shoreline. It has great natural beauty, with high category holes.

A Par 72 golf course, with 6238 m. It has several very beautiful holes, namely those by the Ria Formosa.

The najestic pine trees, a registered trade mark of The Old Course, are their potential biggest challenge. Hole number 9 - a Par 4 with 265 metres - is the perfect example of that.

Designed by William Mitchell and opened in 1974, offers the golfer the ability to play the most varied ways to the "greens". Hosted the Open de Portugal in 1976, 84, 85, 86, 88, 89, 90 and 2001, being there that the great champion Colin Montgomerie won his first professional title by winning the Open de Portugal in 1989.
