Casa dos Condes de Melo

Also known as noble House of Dom Nuno de Sousa, this House was built by Dom Nuno Vaz de Sousa in 1538. After belonging to the counts de Melo, passed into the hands of the counts of Vila Real. The original building, there are two Manueline Windows with vegetal decoration.

Building originally built in the first half of the 18th century, for family residence White Castle. In 1998, it was acquired by the City Council here to install the tapestry Museum Guy Fino. Highlighting the unique facade, with a central portico with a pediment contracurvado that interceta the frames of the Windows.

Church with Manueline characteristics, Baroque and Rococo, consisting of a single nave, a chapel, a sacristy, a processional pace and a Bell Tower. The hospital features a Baroque façade with five cloths with individualized trim in polilobado pediment. Currently, the chapel serves as headquarters of the National Body of Listeners of Portalegre and the hospital serves as a home for the elderly.
