Austere and simple monastic set, showing the Franciscan spirit that was in its foundation. Worthy of notice are the cloister, with classical lines and the refectory with cloister vaults and the decoration with glazed tiles characteristic of this period.

Casa Museu Bissaya-Barreto

Civil architecture revival residential house with two floors, with a large forked staircase. The building was built between 1923 and 1925, working initially as a residence of Professor Bissaya Barreto. In 1985\/6 has been restored and adapted to House-Museum.

The Almedina arch was part of the medieval walls, going back to the XI century, as the Arabian toponym that means “the city” indicates. Nowadays it is the entrance to the ancient Coimbra, where you may observe a sculpture from the João de Ruão workshop.
