Forte de Paçô

A fortress located on the beach, just a few metres away from the sea. Rebuilt in the 17th century ath the time of the Restoration Wars, it played an important role during Napoleon's invasions. It was part of the defence line in the Lima river banks and by the Atlantic Ocean.

Late-Baroque Manor House, dating from the time pombalina, composed of two dissimilar bodies, of two floors, with chapel located near the larger body. Casa do Paço was founded in the 15th or 16th century, while the chapel was probably built in the first half of the 18th century. In 1997, this Palace opened to the public as the unit of Turismo de Habitação.

Baroque building of rectangular plant with five floors, probably built in the second half of the 18th century. Presents three main facade cloths and differentiated coverage on roofs of three waters. In the eighties of the 20th century, was adapted to the nursing home. The interior is highly adulterated.

The construction was initiated during the reign of Dom Manuel I and finished in the reign of Dom João III. It has two floors, entirely built in granite. The lower floor is formed by a shed with thre ogival arches. In the upper floor there are three windows with balconies. One can also view, on the top of the windows, a royal shield, an armillary sphere and a sailboat, heraldic symbol of Viana do Castelo.

Renaissance and Baroque farmhouse, surrounded by a wall and covered by a trellis of vines, which gives access to the House. In your garden, highlighted by a four-metre high fountain and an outdoor terrace overlooking the sea. From 1990, works as a unit of Turismo de Habitação, function similar to the original: support for pilgrims and recreational farm.

A building of the 16th century, reformed in the 18th century, that has a façade with two floors. The manuelin influences are notorious in three of the portals. In the centre of the façade thre is the coat of arms of the Abreu Lima that replaced the one of the Távoras, destroyed during the time when the Marquês de Pombal was prime minister.
