Baroque church with one nave, which reflects a model of Portuguese Plain Style architecture. Being a pilgrimage sanctuary, mainly during the annual pilgrimage on September 8th, it presents a great monumentality. It has a longitudinal plan, framed by two bell towers, a nave and a narrower chancel, to which the sacristy is added to the left.

This bell tower, built in the mid-19th century, has a quadrangular plan, covered by a stepped and bulbous dome, topped by an iron weather vane in the shape of a flag. On the upper floor, the quadrangular clock dial, made of stone, with Arabic numerals and metal hands stands out.

Ermida de São Luís / Igreja Matriz de Ourique

Small pilgrimage hermitage with beautiful Pombaline tile panels. Rebuilt in the 18th century at the behest of King João V. The elegance of its main façade stands out, with rococo mortar work. Inside, the Baroque is already fully established in the large gilded and polychrome structures that spill over from the altarpieces.
Castelo de Ourique
