Inside, it houses the Rosa Mota Pavilion, a sport and cultural events' venue, the Almeida Garrett Library, among other equipments. In this landscaped complex the Garden of Feelings deserves to be highlighted, as it offers an excellent panoramic over the river Douro.

It is the largest urban park in the country, with an area of 83 hectares that extends to the sea. Designed by the architect Sidónio Pardal, it is an open space with water mirrors, lawns, small woods and about 10 km of paths. It has excellent conditions for the practice of sports or, simply, for walking in contact with Nature. In the park, you can also visit the Water Pavilion and the Sea Life aquarium.
