In this building there are several cultural activities, social and recreational.

Library with over 100,000 volumes, housing the Eduardo Lourenço (3,000 volumes), the Documentary Fund that includes several works from the 18th and 19th century, the local and regional fund, and the estate of Jose Augusto de Castro.

Cultural center that has music school, ballet school, rancho folclórico da Guarda, the set Rosie and the Choir of the guard. Is a space where all of these groups rehearse and meet. Hosts temporary exhibitions still, shows and conferences.

This House of culture opened in 2009, offers a room with 200 seats and a showroom. Its goal is to promote culture, privileging cultural animation projects.

This theater company exists since 1982, being open to the community. Here there are pieces of theater, music, multimedia, Visual Arts, other performing arts, festivals and other artistic events.
