This museum belongs to the University of Minho, that organized it with the legacy of Dona Maria Teresa Cardeal Andrade Martins Salgueiro, deceased on October 29, 2001. It is a way of showing the building and what it has inside, as well as the ways of life of a bourgeoise family in the first half of the 20th century, in the Alto Minho. It also welcomes several events.

The Cine Teatro João Verde opened in June 1949, becoming since then, in one of the most important rooms of spectacles of the Alto Minho. After a thorough refurbishment process, initiated in 1998, the Hall reopened in April 2013, keeping the original architectural building moth and resumes activity with film projection, music concerts and presentation of plays.
Designed by architect Paulo Gomes, the Municipal File of Monção, formerly Guild crop comprises three floors with spaces intended for consultation, preparation and processing of all the existing documentation on the municipal activity.
