Opened in 2016, it is located on the right bank of the Tâmega River, next to the São Roque Bridge. It is a cultural space, with several areas, temporary and permanent exhibition halls, auditorium, archive, library and shop. A space with exceptional, modern and unique features, to honor the genius of the flaviense painter Nadir Afonso.

This museum offers its visitors a wide collection, from objects dating back to the 3rd century bC to the Roman days. A special note to the collections related to the Roman World, one of the most important and complete collections in this area.

In operation since 2008, the Casino de Chaves is a modern building, with machines and game rooms. Its main attractions are the more than 300 slot machines, the mixed room with machines and games, the black-jack, American roulette and several kinds of poker games. It also has three bars, two restaurants and a room where you can dine and watch a show at the same time. In the same building is the modern Hotel Casino de Chaves.

This museum, located in the Castle of Chaves, exhibits several military artefacts, such as weapons, uniforms and military plans. It is possible to climb to the top of the castle where one will enjoy magnificent views of the city.
