Housed in an old fish warehouse, the Afurada Heritage Interpretive Center is a space designed to enhance the collective memory of this fishing community. Through permanent and temporary exhibitions related to the village's traditions, such as fishing tools or traditional costumes, it allows visitors to get to know the daily life and culture of this community.

In this space the collection of sculptures, paintings, Portuguese and foreign craftswork, furniture and decoration from Teixeira Lopes (1866-1942) are to be viewed.

Construída para residência na época Medieval e após ter pertencido aos Condes de Resende, passou em 1984 para Câmara Municipal de V. N. de Gaia. Possui um Centro de Documentação Histórica, com documentação original desde a Idade Média, um Núcleo Museológico de Arqueologia, Arte e Antropologia e espaço de exposições temporárias e de Congressos. O jardim é uma das pérolas desta casa, com Camélias exemplares centenárias.

It was founded in 1345 by a noblewoman from Gaia, Maria Mendes Patite, who handed it over to the S. Domingos Order. In the 17th century, with the floods in the Douro River, the Monastery underwent profound changes and ended up being extinguished in 1834, leading to the construction, in the second half of the 17th century, of a new temple. With a unique architecture, the Choir stands out inside, with an imposing ceiling decorated with oil paintings. Inaugurado em 2021, este auditório permite desenvolver atividades de caráter cultural de apoio às diversas coletividades existentes em Canelas. Conta com uma sala comunitária apta à realização de exposições, conferências e diferentes eventos culturais e sociais, apoiados por bastidores técnicos.

The ground floor of this building is occupied by three rooms: one with an exhibition of fishing tools and objects and specimens of the maritime fauna, another with aquariums (with specimens from the Aguda area) and a room reserved for classes. The upper floor is occupied by the auditorium.

A cultural space with two floors, where the ground floor is reserved for newspapers and research magazines, as well as computers with internet access. In the upper floor one can find non periodic works, organized by themes.

A space where one may get to know, through the objects and the atmosphere, the history and production of Sandeman's port wine. Worthy of notice is a remarkable collection of glass bottles from the 17th to the 19th centuries.

A space that promotes cultural, sports and leisure activities. It has a theatre, a gaming salon and a bar. On weekends there are free theatre plays.
