The kitchen is predominantly Italian, although the Portuguese flavours also gain space on the menu. Several salads, pizzas, fresh pastas and risottos dominate the letter, with many and varied versions. Octopus in the oven, bacalhau à Brás, various steaks and duck rice reinforce the offer. The Casa das Velhas is a granite and wood house that has a terrace with views of the Minho river, of Vila Nova de Cerveira and of Spain. In the old days it was called Casa das Mineirinhas, a building moree than 100 years old. It was recovered and turned into a restaurant and was then called Casa das Velhas (Old Ladie's House) because that was the home of two old ladies named Mineirinhas. The rice Museum Restaurant opened its doors in June 1996, on the premises of the former rice hulling factory gate. Been closed some time to restructure the building, having reopened with an excellent terrace area overlooking the rice paddies. This reform was still created a zone of mezzanine overlooking the living room, which in the summer season gets sushi and the rest of the year can be used as a private area for groups up to 40 people.
