About a kilometer from the town, this former convent of the Frades Menores de São Francisco da Covilhã was founded in 1563, in a place that offers excellent views of Cova da Beira and Serra da Estrela. The convent was extinguished in 1834, with its objects of worship being distributed among several churches in the region, until in 2001 it was transformed into an elegant inn, with 24 rooms. The hotel unit kept the architecture in an amphitheater, on the slopes of Serra da Esperança.

On a platform next to the River, on an ancient Roman necropolis were still visible a few decades the ruins of a chapel that the tradition called São Sebastião. The construction of the high school and a Sports Pavilion have motivated an archaeological intervention, which in turn led to change the deployment of new equipment. Today, on site, plus a part of the Roman necropolis can be visited, is open to visitors the chapel of St. Sebastian, completely rebuilt, where is exposed the main espolio exhumed.

É também um espaço cultural e de convívio, onde os sabores da região estão em evidência. A morcela de arroz, o ensopado de borrego ou a tibornada de bacalhau são alguns deles. Organiza eventos e jantares de grupo.

The primitive monastery, called Monastery of São Salvador de Grijó, was founded in 922 in the place of Muraceses. It was only in the year 1112 that it was moved to its current location. Of note are the gilded carvings and the 18th century tiles in the chancel, as well as the pipe organ, from the end of the 18th century and beginning of the 19th century. Os três pequenos pastores moravam na pequena aldeia de Aljustrel, quando ocorreram as aparições. É neste local, situado a dois quilómetros do Santuário, que estão recriados os hábitos e costumes dos irmãos Francisco e Jacinta, assim como da sua prima Lúcia.
