Set composed of a main building and four chalets of smaller dimensions. The main building features a plant in H, with coverage carried out by three roofs and four waters. The chalets are rectangular with gable roofs roofing, bent and vestured of mantling clipped.

This is the latest village in the Azores, having been elevated to town only in 2004. Here is the biggest fishing port in the Azores. Its name comes from the fact that one of its ends of earth being similar to a fish tail.
