A place where a part of a roman road, th rural houses and the chapel of Our Lady of Tojeirinho stand out. The region is very beautiful, namely the Lapas caves (visits only with a guide). The black stone is exploited in the region. The craftswork includes "trapo" objects.
Pedestrian path of great route that unites ten historic villages: Almeida, Castelo Mendo, Castelo Novo, Castelo Rodrigo, Linhares da Beira, Marialva, Piódão and Sortelha Monsanto. Is a circular route that in total covers approximately 540 kilometres, passing through the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela, Douro International Natural Park and the Natural Reserve of Serra da Malcata.
Aldeia do Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela. Conhecida pelas suas terras e construções graníticas, terá sido batizada assim por se tratar de um "vale pequeno".
Forest area with about 136 acres, located in the southwest of the Serra da Estrela mountain range, at an altitude between 790 and 1061 meters. Its flora is diverse, predominantly pines-brave, chestnut and birch trees.
Folgosinho, located on the north slope of Serra da Estrela, at an altitude of 930 metres, was the county seat until 1836. It is known for having been mentioned in the "Lusíadas", due to Viriato who, according to legend, was born here. It has a rich cultural heritage, highlighting the archaeological site of Outeiro, the medieval walls, the pillory and the church. The population dedicates itself, in its majority, to the pastoralism, being produced in this region the famous cheese of Serra da Estrela.
