A multimedia space divided in several sections: collection of papers and magazines, local/regional fund, current information, English, French and German books and a section of aujdiovisual and electronic documents.

Founded in 1989, this library once belonged to Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. It has a wid collection of national and international press and is also a municipal archive.

Modern space for the reading of books and other publications, free of charge and to its dissemination. It also serves for holding cultural events.

Modern library consists of a collection of 25 thousand books, 8,000 of whom donated by Augusto Cesar de Carvalho, a former Mayor. In addition to the reading rooms, it also has a multipurpose room that hosts exhibitions and an audiovisual room.

In this space are organized temporary exhibitions of ancient books, painting and sculpture.
