The chapel in the village of Sapelos, dedicated to Santo Amaro, is a temple in granite, rectangular plant oriented Northeast\/Southwest. The original building was, throughout the ages, the target of restructuring and expansion works in order to meet the needs of the growth of the village community. This chapel has two altars: the high altar, which occupies the bedside wall and a side altar, the Gospel side, housing the main religious imaginary local devotions.

Granite cruise placed on a platform of two quadrangular steps. The base is stone bearing, in each of the faces, with inscriptions relating to his inauguration and the commemoration of the Foundation and of the independence of Portugal. The forend, of quadrangular section, is surmounted by a capital consisting of a cubic block with ornate faces by crosses and the corners, carved in relief. This cruise is crowned by a cross, bifurcated format with reliefs on the ends.

The cruise and the Shrine of our Lady of conception are a devotional structure supported by a plinth placed on a platform. The cruise, with a small octagonal shaft is topped by a ball which supports a Celtic Cross. In front of this are the Shrine of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, a beautiful work of masonry. Granite block, rectangular format, where, on the front, was carved a deep niche with arched top, framed by humanized figures holding a wreath. Inside the niche is the sculpture of our Lady of the conception on a Crescent Moon.

The main façade is dominated by a rectangular cover, in whose lintel is inscribed the year 1758 date on which the building was rebuilt, flanked by two glasses and surmounted by another, decorated with a rosette. The stretching of the gable has a belfry crowned with a cross flanked by pinnacles with ball, similar to the spires which conclude the corners.
